Job Summary

Job Summary

The Braillist transcribe a wide variety of instructional materials into Braille and large print; operate various Braille equipment including a Braille writer, Braille word processor, computer and related software and/or electronic Braille printer; prepare tactile educational materials such as maps, charts, graphs and pictures for visually impaired students; assist Bay View Academy staff members by transcribing and preparing educational materials under limited supervision and provide general support for department staff and students with visual impairments. The Braillist reports to the SpEd Director.

Requirements / Qualifications

Graduation from high school, GED or higher degree Valid Braille certification issued by the Library of Congress One (1) year of experience in the operation of a braille writer

Letter of Introduction Resume Letters of Recommendation High School Diploma or GED
