Job Summary
The Marin County Beginning Teacher Induction Program is a consortium of seventeen districts, local private schools, one county office and one four-year college in Marin County. While the Marin County Office of Education is the local educational agency for the Program and will house its Director and staff, its sponsorship and administration is a joint responsibility of all districts. The Collaborative focuses on retaining greater number of teachers by reducing their professional and geographic isolation and improving their instructional performance. Each Participating Teacher is matched with a Mentor to form a partnership for mutual and collaborative professional growth during the two year program. This position will provide assistance and support to the program and work as part of the Education Services team. Funding supporting this project must be re-authorized annually.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: • Valid California Teaching Credential preferred. • Valid California Administrative credential or certificate of eligibility required. • Strong background in teacher professional development, successful teaching experience or administrative experience within an educational setting, proven leadership abilities, experience with a new teacher support program required.
