Under direction of assigned designee, the Administrative Assistant I shall serve as an assistant to school administrators and perform complex and highly specialized secretarial and administrative support duties; relieves executive staff of clerical and administrative details; plans, organizes and coordinates office activities, provides administrative services and communication. Requirements / Qualifications

Proof of Highest Level of Education . Two years of secretarial and/or clerical experience. One year of secretarial and/or clerical experience within an educational organization is preferred. . High School Diploma required . Operations, principles, practices, procedures, rules and methods of the district and assigned office or division . Operation of a computer and assigned software . Modern office methods and equipment, computers and application software . Accurate record-keeping techniques . Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary . Receptionist and telephone techniques
. District organization, operations, policies and objectives Interpret and apply legal mandates, policies, rules and regulations, and operational procedures pertaining to school operation . Effectively and efficiently operate computer terminals and computers, and utilize application software . Compose correspondence independently . Establish and maintain comprehensive and accurate files and records, and prepare concise and complete reports as required . Type or keyboard at a net corrected speed of 50 words per minute . Make mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy . Understand and carry out oral and written directions . Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner . Apply policies and procedures related to the assigned duties and responsibilities of the position . Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships . Work with discretion and in confidence with student and staff information . The ability to communicate with a diverse group of people on a daily basis . Possession of a valid California driver's license
