Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: - An Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in culinary arts, dietetics, foods and nutrition, hotel, and restaurant management, institutional management/business or public administration, or a related field. -Three years of professional experience in quantity food service, nutrition, dietetics, school nutrition programs or nutrition education programs, including at least one year at the full supervisory level; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements: - Must possess a valid California Driver's License - Must hold a Food Handlers Certification

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Plan, organize and direct the activities of the District wide Nutrition Services. Supervise Nutrition Service personnel to assure compliance with District, State and Federal requirements regarding nutrition, sanitation, safety and record keeping; train and evaluate the performance of staff. Responsible for the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs, the After School Snack Program, the Seamless Summer Food Service Program and other programs available through the US Department of Agriculture. Works directly under the supervision of the Superintendent’s designee. Supervises subordinates and classified personnel in the Food Services Division and student helpers.
