BRENTWOOD UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT Job Title: Instructional Aide, Computer Lab Reports to: Site Principal/Program Manager Primary Functions: Under general supervision, perform a variety of instructional and general duties pertaining to the operation and maintenance of a Computer Lab, help to interpret the school program for the community and provide community feedback to the classroom experience. Performance Responsibilities „h Perform instructional related activities such as: „h preparing and presenting computer lessons for students and teachers „h provide support with the technology component of teacher lesson plans „h „h Organize, inventory, troubleshoot and maintain computer equipment: „h imaging „h cleaning monitors, mice and printers „h Assist in acquisition of computer software and hardware „h Research and disseminate technology information to staff „h Perform all other duties as assigned Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of: Basic classroom procedures; computer functions and applications; other forms of instructional techniques such as CD Rom and Laser Disk; English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation; CPR and First Aid. Abilities: Understand and follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively both in oral and written form; complete assignments independently; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relations with children and adults. ADA Requirement: Must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, frequently lift objects weighing approximately 10 lbs. (i.e. paperwork, files), occasionally lift objects weighing approximately 40 lbs. (box of computer paper, monitor, printer, etc.) push, pull, drag, and grasp objects. Experience: Past experience with computers and demonstrated competencies in operating computers. Previous experience in a classroom setting is desired. Education: Equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade. Must be able to pass standard proficiency test of basic knowledge.
