Virtual schools are new models in public education. They look both backward to what we know works well in educating children, and forward to see how technology can help us implement these strategies with children. Virtual school teachers are part of a pioneering effort. Our teachers and staff, therefore, need to share the school’s pioneering mission and approach. The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to TK-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. K12, inc. is our curriculum provider.

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Full time Compass Community Coordinators: $22 per hour We do participate in CalPERS. Please contact your CalPERS counselor about how employment with any of the California Virtual Academies may affect your personal PERS account. Only full time employees are offered health, dental, and vision benefits. Benefits information is only given out upon offer. We do provide training for all programs and we have a great staff to serve as your support system. REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE: • Must reside in the state of California • Must reside within or adjacent to one of the following California counties: Alameda, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, Fresno, Lake, Madera, Marin, Mendocino, Merced, Mono, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Yolo, Yuba. • Strong Organizational Skills • Detail Oriented • Able to balance and complete multiple projects • Experience with social media marketing • Web design experience • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, Canva, and Google Suite. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both adults and students • Self-directed but comfortable working as part of a team • Ability to travel to events, as needed Certificates and Licenses: Bachelor’s Degree (desired)
