Job Summary

Job Summary

The Director of Educational Programs reports to the District Superintendent. In addition to the duties outlined in the attached job description, the Director of Educational Programs also has primary responsibility over additional programs, including but not limited to: Early Childhood Education and State Preschool Programs; before and after school Expanded Learning Opportunities Program; intersession student programs during winter, spring, and summer breaks; planning, coordination, and attendance at a variety of monthly districtwide student and community events (e.g., Principal-for-a-Day, Spelling Bee, Choir Festival, etc.); and oversight for state and federal compliance reports and audits.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid CA Administrative Services Credential • MA degree or higher in educational administration, supplemented by experience in categorical programs, student programs, and staff development. • Site-level experience highly desirable. • Knowledge and abilities to successfully perform the job, including: Knowledge of LCAP, categorical funds and fiscal aspects of categorical budgets, Purposes, limitations and administration of achievement tests, relevant regulations, legal mandates, policies and procedures; standards-based curriculum and instruction; curriculum and instruction design and materials, current legislation, project writing, guidelines, evaluation techniques and strategies; and staff development processes including adult learning theory. Must be able to determine, plan and facilitate inservice training programs, communicate effectively in oral and written form; and establish and maintain cooperative and effective professional working relationships. • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. • Valid CA Driver’ License • Minimum of five (5) years’ leadership experience in categorical and student programs, including curriculum, fiscal and personnel management experience. • Fingerprinting and background clearance check as required by law.
