Job Summary
The job of Health Services Assistant is done for the purpose/s of supporting the educational process with specific responsibilities for administering first aid and dispensing prescribed medications under the direction of a health care professional; coordinating with other personnel in supporting students with medical needs; documenting activities in accordance with established guidelines and/or regulatory requirements; maintaining health records and other files; and performing general clerical functions. This position will also include performing contact tracing.
Requirements / Qualifications
All applications will be screened and evaluated to ensure application is complete, certifications are attached, and applicant meets minimum qualifications. The process will include a supplemental application exam and oral interview exam. Those candidates achieving a passing score of 70% or higher on each exam will be placed on an eligibility list and the top three ranks of candidates will receive a departmental interview. Additional interviews will be conducted in rank order until all open positions are filled as vacancies occur. All examinations are based on the job description for the position. Job descriptions are available on the District website, Personnel Commission, or Human Resources. The oral exam for this recruitment will take place Thursday, June 6, 2024.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, current First Aid & CPR certificate, and a valid driver’s license. Some experience working with children, or working in a medical receptionist or clinical medical assistant setting has been found to be a minimum requirement for successful job performance. Relevant experience, education, certificates, and/or license may be substituted. REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Current First Aid & CPR certificate and valid driver’s license.
