Job Summary
The Senior Director of Culture and Climate is responsible for building the capacity of school site leadership through coaching, supporting and holding accountable elementary, middle and high school staff to effectively operationalize and implement structures and systems that ensure schools have strong cultures that include high expectations and skillful incident response to enable the highest level of learning.
Requirements / Qualifications
Essential Functions (include but are not limited to): Vision and Design Communicating and working collaboratively with the Senior VP of Student and Family Services and VP of School Culture to create the Tier 1 culture at Bright Star by grade level in alignment with the Bright Star Vision and the student experience expectations Collaborate with the VP of Student and Family Services and Vice President of School Culture to create the vision of BSS classroom community expectations and signature practices by grade level Collaborate with Senior VP of Student and Family Services and VP of School Culture to design the multi-tiered systems of Support at BSS and all schools Use data to inform practices and ensure success with Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Work collaboratively within the department to create a vision for SEL curriculum, core practices and alignment across BSS School Partnerships Building positive relationships with school staff, administration, school support team, students, community partners, and families Observe school practices at least once a week or as directed by the Senior VP of Student and Family Services and VP of School Culture and provide guidance, coaching and support to school leadership, teacher leaders, and teachers as needed
Qualifications/Requirements: The ideal candidate will have: 3-5 years of school leadership experience (admin credential preferred) California teaching or counseling credential (Required) Administrative credential (Highly preferred) Experience in building a positive school culture and implementing tiered supports for student success Experience facilitating restorative practices and social-emotional learning for school stakeholders (i.e. students, families and staff). Experience in coaching adults and leading them to achieve goals Strong facilitation and active listening skills Strong personal commitment to social justice and healing work Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Experience facilitating professional development 3-5 years of working in an educational or community organization setting Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Spanish fluency (preferred)

Salary/Benefits:
Salary: Starting at 95k, placement of salary depends on experience and qualifications.
Status: Full time, Exempt
