Job Summary
The Highlands Community Charter Schools Director of Independent Study for California Innovative Career Academy is responsible for all programs that are aligned to an Independent Study instructional model. Includes monitoring of program compliance such as attendance, Cal-Pads reporting, charter petition and renewal. WASC accreditation, campus or facility management and fiscal compliancy are all conditions to successfully fulfilling the job. The Director of Independent Study shall coordinate and manage the Independent Study Program. This is a classified administrative position that provides compliance coordination for the program on a variety of HCCTS campuses and is an essential part of HCCTS’s high school diploma completion program. Requirements / Qualifications

Proof of Highest Level of Education . A Bachelor of Arts or Science from an accredited 4-year State College, University or Private College . A Master Degree (preferred) . Years of experience may be substituted for some educational requirements
. The HCCS Director of Independent Study should possess a BS or BA degree from a recognized college institution in either Education, Business Administration or a degree of like nature that is in alignment to the job of being an Independent Study program operator. (Preferred). . Should possess a background and knowledge base of Independent Study and its components in relation to State and local measurements of accountability. . Candidate should be able to function independently and effectively. This includes meeting critical timelines and reporting associated to Independent Study. . Candidate can communicate effectively and clearly with a diverse staff and student population. . Effective written communication skills are critical. . Ability to use technology effectively with regards to communication, record keeping, staff presentations, fiscal accountability or stated mandated compliancy associated
