1. Three years of experience as a journeyman in one of the building trades. 2. Four years of increasingly responsible experience in a supervisory position. 3. Ability to supervise, trains, and directs personnel in all aspects of building trades. 4. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with administrators, employees, and the public. 5. Must possess a valid and appropriate California driver’s license. 6. Working knowledge of all related building trades, including methods, materials, and equipment used in the various trades. 7. In depth knowledge of building construction practices and laws affecting the construction and repair of school buildings and grounds. 8. General knowledge of bidding policies and procedures for school districts.
The Maintenance Manager position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District’s Maintenance and Operations Department. The primary functions are to manage and direct the maintenance and repair work performed by maintenance personnel on school buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years experience as journeyman in one of the building trades, including one year of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity, as well as a working knowledge of all related building trades. Must possess a valid California Driver License. Ability to assist in the administration of district-wide maintenance programs, including estimating costs of labor and materials. Ability to supervise the work of a large staff, as well as prepare oral and written reports.
