THE POSITION: The Coordinator III will work within the Department of Special Education to assist districts within LA County. The Coordinator III will provide technical, specialized, consultative, advisory and planning services. The Coordinator III will help design and deliver professional learning. The Coordinator III will be well-versed in coaching and have 10 or more years teaching/coaching/administrative experience. The Coordinator III will understand inclusive practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the impact these practices have on the growth and development academically, behaviorally and emotionally for all students. The Coordinator III will provide both in-person and remote support to teams of educators within Los Angeles County. In the absence of the Director II of Special Education, the Coordinator III will serve as the Administrator in Charge. This position will require travel throughout LA County.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION • Master’s in Education or related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation • 10 or more years K-12 teaching/coaching/administrative experience • Experience working with adult learners; familiarity with best practices in training and/or coaching adults • Experience supporting schools, teachers, or LEAs with rollout or implementation of inclusive practices. See below for step-by-step instructions.): • Must possess and maintain a valid K-12 Teaching Credential and/or Special Education Credential • Must possess and maintain a valid California Administrative Services Credential.
