Job Summary
The Coordinator of Youth Ministry will be responsible for animating, accompanying and leading the school community to drive exceptional outcomes for students, families, and staff that is rooted in our Salesian charism, mission, and educational philosophy. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry ensures that the Salesian Youth Ministry Frame of Reference and the Standards and Benchmarks of Salesian Secondary Schools are: • Implemented as main guideline for mission and identity of the Salesian charism; • Promoted as the guiding tool for strategic planning; • The foundational resource for the initial and on-going formation and professional development of all Salesian educators; • Utilized as a means for on-going assessment of the integrity of Salesian charism, alignment of the mission and integrity of the educational curriculum. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry (CYM) has an essential role in the animation of the Salesian school. He/she is appointed by the SDB Provincial in consultation with the Director, President, and Principal. The CYM’s main responsibility is to work closely with the Director, President and Principal in ensuring that the Salesian identity and mission is integral to the community and reflected in all aspects of student life. Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience - Practicing Catholic and faithful to Catholic tradition. Well formed in basic catholic theology. - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree - Experience and success in youth ministry and educative programs. - Familiarity with Salesian history, pedagogy, and spirituality.

The CYM is committed to providing Catholic educational opportunity for young people, especially those on the margins, with a passion for the Salesian charism, mission, philosophy, and values. Previous experience working in a school environment as a teacher or administrator for at least 5 years. Have a deep awareness of and commitment to the Catholic and Salesian traditions of education, service, and social justice, with the credibility to lead and represent the Salesians of Don Bosco USA West with integrity.
Deep knowledge of and passion for best practices in educational leadership and school health in a Catholic school context. An ability to connect with a diverse group of people and build strong relationships with school administrators, teachers, and students, grounded in listening and high levels of challenge and support. Experience in working collaboratively with Catholic church leaders—lay, clergy and religious.
The CYM works closely with the Director in the animation of the Educative Pastoral Community and the Pastoral Plan, and with the Principal in providing leadership to foster the integration of faith and learning within the school.
