Welcome to the Santa Maria-Bonita School District website. We are the largest school district in Santa Barbara County with about 17,500 pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. In the heart of the coastal agricultural area, we celebrate our families and the support they provide to the students of the District. The District is comprised of seventeen elementary schools, four junior high schools, and one combined elementary and junior high. BASIC FUNCTION Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of complex and responsible oral and written translations; assist supervisor with follow up on administrative or clerical detail; monitor bilingual program expenditures.
Requirements / Qualifications
Ability to: Read, write, translate, and interpret English and Spanish; Type 50 words per minute; Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, duplicating, and maintaining routine records; Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in Spanish and English; Understand and follow oral and written instructions; Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; Compile and verify data and reports; Operate office machines including a computer and applicable software to enter data, maintain records and generate reports; Meet schedules and deadlines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from High School supplemented by training or experience in Spanish as well as English and one year of experience performing varied general office or clerical functions. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated exceptional ability to translate written material from English to Spanish and Spanish to English; Possession of a valid California Driver's license; Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier.

- Proof of HS Graduation (Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from High School )
- Typing Certificate (50 net words per minute, no more than 5 errors, 5 minute typing test. No online tests accepted.)
