Job Summary

Under general direction, to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to a school site instrumental music program; to serve as a resource concerning instrumental and general music instruction; to instruct and train orchestra, bands, dance bands in musicianship and performance activities; and to do other related functions as directed.

A Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music is preferred. Allowances may be made for select candidates who have demonstrated subject matter competency through the CSET Music examinations, an undergraduate degree in Music, or an Emergency Credential with plans towards obtaining a Single Subject Credential in Music. Also accepting applications from candidates with current CTE Music Credentials or with plans towards obtaining a CTE Music Credential. South Fork High School, Miranda Junior High School, and Redway Elementary School is currently searching for a fully credentialed music teacher, or a person who is in the process of obtaining a single-subject credential in music. Ideal candidates will possess the competence and energy required to build a vibrant music program, with opportunities for students that may include jazz ensemble, drama, and band. The teacher will be expected to provide students of varying abilities with instruction in both music theory and performance.
