Suisun Valley School (SVS) enriches its educational program with agriscience on its two-acre farm. A full-time agriscience teacher designs and coordinates agriscience lessons and project-based learning activities to engage students in caring for all aspects of the school’s garden. Students participate in the entire farm-to-fork cycle, directly linking healthy soil, healthy produce, healthy food choices, healthy humans, and a healthy planet. Agriscience Teacher Job Description Overview: The agriscience teacher will be in charge of maintaining Suisun Valley’s agriculture program. The agriscience teacher will teach gardening lessons in conjunction with their curriculum and NGSS standards and execute Farm to Table relationships and activities at Suisun Valley Elementary School K-8. Responsibilities: * Lead gardening activities * Maintain edible gardens * Plan and execute farm to fork school lessons * Plan and execute gardening lessons aligned with NGSS standards * Attend professional development training once a year with staff in August * Co-teach and co-plan with staff * Provide release time to teachers Requirements: * Must be very organized * Good classroom management * Working outside * Well versed in cooking with students * Multi-tasked while been in an outdoor environment

Intern-qualified candidates will also be considered. Non-credentialed applicants who are moved forward for the position and do not have a CTC educator page will be required to obtain a Certificate of Clearance (COC).
