Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the administrative supervision of the Lead Counselor, provides data entry, record keeping, and other clerical support for school counseling departments. This position assumes the clerical and data entry functions often performed by site guidance counselors to assist student placement into the master schedule for courses approved by the counselor. Direct and frequent contact with students, staff, and parents is required. This position also performs other counseling related clerical functions. Proof of Highest level of Education . A high school diploma is required. . A minimum of three years of increasingly responsible experience in a clerical support role. . Prior experience working in a counseling department or school setting is preferred. Requires knowledge of: . Basic methods and principles of secondary school operation and organization. . Principles of record keeping and organization. . Standard office personal computer software. Requires the ability to: . Read and write at a level sufficient for the performance of assigned duties. . Understand and carry out oral and written directions. . Work independently with a minimum of supervision. . Intemperate directions and effectively adjust to new situations. . Prepare and compile accurate records. . Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
