Home School Teachers are responsible for preparing curriculum for families, daily asynchronous advisory with students, monitoring work progress and completion each week, assessments, differentiating curriculum as needed, weekly on campus enrichment, field trips, parent orientation and conferences, and other duties as assigned. DISTANCE LEARNING ACADEMY (DLA) PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Cajon Valley Home School provides tuition free distance learning options for families. We are part of the Cajon Valley Union School District and offer students all the benefits of being an established school district with high academic standards and student support systems. Our program is delivered through an easy to use, robust learning management system with the tools needed to access daily lessons and communicate with teachers. MISSION STATEMENT The Cajon Valley Design Learning Academy provides a connected/virtual learning community where strengths and individuality are valued. Students are encouraged to transcend traditional learning boundaries to access knowledge and creativity. We build connections and a sense of community among students. • Lessons are taught by parent/guardian • Parent check in weekly with home school teacher • Attendance is counted based on work completion • Work is assigned and due weekly. It can be completed at parent/student pace • Optional weekly on campus enrichment opportunities through our Explorations program
Requirements / Qualifications
In order to pass paper screening, applications must include all of the documents listed below. Please do not include additional documents that are not listed below.
- Credential Copy (Multiple Subject Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing ; a status letter from your university is acceptable in lieu of the credential as long as the letter indicates you are on track to receive the credential prior to August 2024.)
- English Learner Authorization (If EL authorization is embedded in teaching credential be sure you attach the proper version of your credential that includes detail; otherwise attach EL authorization as a separate document.)
- Letter of Introduction
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 letters required)
