The District is seeking candidates for Manager, Magnet and Innovation Programs positions to support assigned schools/area and other programs. The selected candidate will take a leadership role in supporting the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Department's 2023 Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) federal grant, "Magnifying Media Arts in San Diego Unified School District". The grant’s objectives are to enhance each school’s current magnet theme through the addition of inquiry based teaching and learning with integrated Media Arts and will serve the following magnet schools: Oak Park Elementary Music and Media Arts, Roosevelt Middle School IB/Media Arts, and Montgomery Middle School STEAM/Media Arts. Duties will include implementing the grant by supporting grant logistics, professional learning specific to inquiry-based pedagogies and integrated Media Arts; interdisciplinary curriculum development; supporting purchasing and usage of materials and technology specific to the Media Arts; supporting parent and community events and marketing; and supporting grant compliance procedures. The MSAP Manager of Magnet and Innovation Programs will work closely with the VAPA Director, MSAP Administrator, MSAP site principals, classroom teachers, VAPA Resource Teachers, Partnerships, as well as classified support staff and oversee the work of two central office MSAP Resource Teachers, and support the work of 3 site based MSAP Resource Teachers. This position is anticipated to be filled for the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents. The Manager, Magnet and Innovation Programs will be paid on the AASD Certificated Salary Schedule. Salary Grade: 30.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of training, education and/or experience equivalent to a master’s degree in education or related field and five years of experience in magnet school leadership, including experience managing academic programs and integration programs, and grant writing. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid Administrative Services Credential. Valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation.
