Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high school students for future careers in the field of education. This includes teaching students about various roles in education, the skills and qualifications required for these roles, and the current trends and issues in the education sector. The teacher will also guide students in exploring different career paths in education and help them understand the impact they can make in their communities as educators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, excellent teaching skills, and a passion for inspiring the next generation of educators.

Requirements / Qualifications

Appropriate CTE or Designated Subjects teaching credential or eligibility for appropriate credential. Candidates without a credential must have 3 years’ experience within the field. CalAPS will assist individuals in obtaining the preliminary credential provided the candidate can prove applicable proof of experience. Credential cost will be reimbursed by CalAPS. Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required. One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.
