e3 Civic High is seeking a dynamic, caring, and dedicated High School Counselor (College & Career) for the 2024-25 school year. Counselors report to the Director of Wellness & Counseling. Caseload is approximately 200-225 students. *2024-25 School Year Opening **Applicants must be student-centered, committed to cultural proficiency, embracing of Design Thinking, hard-working, caring, able to handle stress constructively, open-to-feedback, ethical, socially skilled, embracing of innovation, flexible and collaborative. ***Interviews to be conducted on a rolling basis ****Position starts after summer vacation on July 25, 2024 for Orientation/Onboarding, then professional development. Students return on August 15, 2024.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS -Knowledge of California university admission requirements, including A-G -PPS Credential -Experience in an education environment, e.g. K-12 or Higher Education -Experience using G Suite for Education, e.g. Google Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Drive -Spanish fluent speaker is preferred but not required

  • Credential Copy (CTC Screenshot: Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential or Letter from PPS Program credential analyst verifying that you will be recommended for the Clear PPS prior to August 2024.)

      About E3 CIVIC HIGH e3 Civic High is an award-winning free public charter high school serving grades 9 thru 12 located in the landmark 400,000 square foot downtown San Diego Central Public Library. The three "e's" represent and drive our mission to Engage, Educate, and Empower. e3 opened in the fall of 2013 with an entering class of 265 ninth and tenth-grade students. Currently, approximately 400 students are enrolled in our school. e3 celebrates a diverse population of scholars who come from over 35 zip codes. All e3 scholars have clear college, workforce, and life targets including academic, civic engagement, and internships to prepare them for life after high school. All scholars are offered academic and wellness supports as well as small class sizes. e3 supports all scholars to apply to a 2-year college and 4-year universities. The e3 way and innovative learning platform offers students: -A personalized experience that leverages technology to support and enhance learning and teaching -All students are supported and assessed each year for college, workforce and life readiness -100% of students take the SAT and apply to 4 year colleges -All students are supported through college applications, financial aid and acceptance processes -Tutoring is available for all e3 students at no cost -All students participate in a Design Thinking Capstone course -College level courses are available through partnerships with UC San Diego, Point Loma Nazarene University, and San Diego City Community College -e3 advisors provide college application supports to all e3 students -All e3 students receive a MacBook Air to take home daily for the school year -Relevant field trips and renowned guest speakers for real world exposure -Design thinking and digital literacy skills for 21st century workforce prep -Internships for all e3 students -Focus and supports for wellness and mental health with licensed therapist on campus We are proud of the recent recognitions: -2022 California Pivotal Practice Award School (1 of 4 High Schools in San Diego County). -2023 California Community School Partnership Program (CSSPP) Grant Awardee. -2023 Design Thinking teams received a competitive $25,000 grant from the Girard Foundation. -2023 Junior Achievement: e3 team wins Most Powerful Social Impact Award. -2024 Lemelson-MIT - Our all-girls ‘InvenTeam’ was 1 of only 8 high school teams nationally to be awarded the prestigious Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam Grant and will compete at Lemelson-MIT in Boston, Massachusetts.
