Job Title: Catholic High School Science Teacher Location: In Person at Notre Dame High School, Riverside, California Job Summary: Notre Dame High School seeks a passionate and innovative Science teacher to join our dedicated team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science. This position requires a knowledgeable and enthusiastic individual who can convey complex scientific concepts in an accessible and engaging manner, integrating faith with reason, a commitment to fostering students’ intellectual, creative, and spiritual growth, and the ability to cultivate a student-centered, academically rigorous, and faith-based learning environment. Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). -A valid teaching credential is preferred but not required. -A valid teaching certificate with an endorsement in Science is preferred. -Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. -Previous teaching experience in high school Science or a related field is preferred. -Familiarity with Catholic teachings and commitment to the mission of Catholic education. -Proficiency in educational technology (e.g., iOS operating systems, Google Suite, educational apps), including learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Grading) and student information systems (e.g., RenWeb). -Commitment to upholding the mission and values of Notre Dame High School -Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration within a faith-based community. Key Responsibilities -Curriculum Development and Instruction: -Design and implement an engaging science curriculum aligned with Next Generation Science Standards, state standards, and the school’s educational goals.

This position supports Notre Dame High School in developing a student-centered, technology-enhanced, and academically rigorous learning environment. The teacher is responsible for designing engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes critical thinking, student achievement, and the integration of faith and learning within a Catholic school setting. Duties include lesson planning and delivering curriculum, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to school-wide initiatives aligned with the school’s learning goals and Integral Student Outcomes (ISOs).
Essential Job Functions Percent of Time (approx.)
Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment 50%
- Establish professional partnerships which exceed student and parent expectations;
- Align course content with established curriculum and formulate clear and achievable learning objectives for each lesson;
- Create engaging assignments that embrace Notre Dame's learning modalities and grade level learning objectives;
- Establish structured innovative learning environments which engage students in the learning process while meeting accepted classroom management practices;
- Implement prescribed instructional planning to maximize the effectiveness of block scheduling in meeting stated learning objectives;
- Fully and creatively integrate Notre Dame's iPad learning platform in the creation of innovative learning environments;
- Collaborate across grade-level curriculum to create a unique and effective learning culture;
- Identify and utilize current assessment practices to measure the degree to which learning objectives are met;
- Communicate student progress and collaborate with parents to provide interventions necessary to ensure student success.

- Bachelors Degree and single subject credential in related field ;

- Demonstrated ability to compose and deliver compelling and engaging presentations;

- Proficiency in using Apple apps, App Store, iTunesU, iTunes, iWork's, and all other applicable apps and software;

Special Conditions of Employment (these are standard requirements for all positions)
- Salaried Exempt or Hourly Nonexempt Position
- Work hours are from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday
- Some evening and week-end hours will be required
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed
