Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Special Programs, the Career Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator will coordinate and provide administrative, technical, and functional supervision for CTE Programs operating in districts and charter schools across Glenn County. The Coordinator will provide district and school-level support for pathway implementation, building industry partnerships, identifying and responding to trends in the labor force, initiating/strengthening CTE student leadership groups, teacher recruitment and placement, program marketing, and identification of model CTE programs within the county and/or region. The Coordinator will serve as a liaison with leaders from community organizations, business and industry, Community College districts, the California Department of Education (CDE) and other educational agencies in order to support articulation between middle school, high school, and post-secondary institutions for the purpose of preparing students to be career and college ready. The position requires the ability to provide input, interpretation and guidance on behalf of the organization regarding legislation that may impact the project/program. This position requires specialized, progressive expertise in career-technical education, including Career Pathways, capstone courses and industry badges and certificates. Under administrative direction, the Coordinator makes decisions of critical consequence, impacting the goals, organization, and administration of educational programs and services for the program.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Three or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive experience in CTE. Administrative or related experience is desirable. • Experience working with K-12 CTE knowledge of grant writing, reporting & managing budgets preferred. • A valid (or ability to apply for and qualify for) California Designated Subjects Vocational Teaching Credential or hold a valid Teaching Credential in CTE Related Subject areas.
