Job Summary

Valley Preparatory School is looking for a full-time Middle Social Studies teacher for the 2026-27 academic school year. Valley Preparatory School, located in Redlands, California, is a coeducational independent day school offering a college preparatory curriculum in grades pre-school through eight. The school environment is enriched by students who come from a variety of geographical, economic, social, and eithnic backgrounds.

2 plus years teaching in a middle school/high school classroom required Familiarity with the California State Standards curriculum has a deep interest and passion for teaching Social Studies has an understanding of middle school students and enjoys working with them can create a developmentally appropriate cooperative learning environment has interest in and/or experience with integrating thematic units across the curriculum values collegiality with other teachers and administrators has excellent communication skills with both children and adults has experience collaborating with a team of teachers to deliver curriculum has a warm and energetic personality with a good sense of humor has experience in educational technology and the using of a Macbook has basic knowledge in IB (not required, but preferred) Will be willing to have additional duties that may include coaching, running clubs and teaching an elective class.
