Job Summary

We are currently seeking a new principal to become part of our team as the leader of Armenian Mesrobian School, a WASC-accredited K-12 education institution in Pico Rivera, CA, serving the Armenian community located east of Downtown Los Angeles, including residents of Pico Rivera, Montebello, and Whittier since 1965. The new principal will be responsible for supervising all major operations of the school, ensuring a safe learning environment, and establishing performance objectives for students and staff. A principal who is an active listener and effective communicator who is committed, innovative, and passionate is preferred. We are seeking an educational leader with experience in elementary, middle, and high school settings, as well as administrative experience in the field of education or a related area. Applicants for the Principal position will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervise and evaluate implementation of curriculum
  • Identify opportunities for faculty training and education
  • Meet with teaching staff regularly to discuss student progress
  • Hire faculty and staff
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders, staff, parents, Board of Regents, School Board and local community
  • Work in collaboration with School Board to provide strategic direction for the School
  • Engage parent community and encourage parent involvement
  • Conduct ongoing classroom observations, both formal and informal, to evaluate teacher performance
  • Administer safety and emergency response protocols
  • Develop and execute WASC accreditation process

Applicants should possess the following minimum qualifications: • Advanced degrees in education and leadership required • Teaching experience (minimum three years) • Administrative experience in education or a related field (minimum five years preferred) • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of educational technology • Fluent in Armenian and English languages (oral and written) • Knowledge of Armenian history and culture Required Documents • Cover Letter • Resume • Two Recommendation Letters (from most recent supervisors) • Copies of Diplomas and Certificates
