Requirements to apply: The Culinary Arts Instructor must have five (5) years of work experience in the area of culinary arts, restaurant/hospitality, nutrition, dietetics, and/or home economics including field experience. A ServSafe instructor/proctor certification is required. A California Adult Education Teacher Credential - Designated Subject of Food Preparation/Home Economics or A California CTE Teacher Credential - Designated Subject of Hospitality/Recreation. If not already credentialed, but you have the experience, our District specialist will help you to obtain the appropriate credential.
CA Designated Subject Teaching Credential: A valid CTE credential in Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation (Culinary Arts); or the ability to obtain the DS credential. Qualifications for the credential and related fees can be found on the SDCOE – Designated Subject Credentialing (Adult Education) website
