The Pajaro Valley Unified School District annually hires coaches to prepare athletes for competition. Coaches have responsibility for: a. teaching sports techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics; b. conditioning athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility; c. supervising and conducting practices and contests safely; supervising locker rooms and buses; d. teaching sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team; e. monitoring athletes' school attendance, grades and personal conduct; f. responding to player injuries with approved first aid techniques; g. managing uniforms, equipment and school facilities in a responsible manner; h. provide coverage for absence of coaches.

Requirements / Qualifications

Aptos High School is accepting applications for Head Varsity Boys/Girls Wrestling Coach to work the 2024-2025 school year. Aptos High is a school of over 1200 students with almost 800 athletes, and over 45 kids in the wrestling program last year. Aptos High has an administration that understands the importance of the strong link between athletics and academics. The chief objective is to hire a coach who will continue the program's strong numbers and presence in the community.

Employment with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District is not complete or official until applicants meet all pre-employment requirements. As part of the selection process, all new employees are required to provide the following information: new employees must be fingerprinted (paid by the District); TB test (paid by the employee); social security card; picture identification; CPR; and first aid
