CUHSD is seeking applications for the 2024-2025 school year to fill a vacant Athletic Director position. Applicants must possess a Single Subject Credential at Secondary Level, have varsity head coach experience, and a minimum of 3 years of educational experience preferred. The Athletic Director will teach two classes per semester in area of subject credential or alternative setting (such as facilitating online learning for credit recovery). There is an annual stipend for the additional time needed on evenings and weekends to perform the AD responsibilities. A teacher consent under Title 5 §800020.4.1(a) for Program Coordination is required for the AD assignment. Under the general supervision of the Principal and/or designee, assumes responsibility for administering the athletic program at the comprehensive high school, including but not limited to developing, providing, and maintaining athletic event schedules; supervision and preliminary evaluation of all head coaches and assistant coaches; certification and maintenance of athletic eligibility records; assists with the preparation and maintenance of the site athletics budget; assesses the condition of athletic facilities for competition; requisitions supplies and makes arrangements for transportation of athletes to athletic events; serves as an educational leader; makes and implements recommendations to support student/athletes to be college and career ready; assists with the supervision and discipline of high school students. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational and communication skills; be flexible, be student-centered, and will align with the district's core values of honesty, integrity, and respect.
