Connect’s Special Education Director will oversee our SPED programming and have their own small caseload. As the Director, you will be responsible for compliance reporting, monitoring services, and interfacing with parents about Connect's SPED programs. You will also work with the SELPA, attending their meetings and staying up to date with policies. Working knowledge of SEIS and CALPADS required for this position. As the case manager, you will work closely with the Special Education team to ensure services are provided with fidelity, and to ensure appropriate services and placements for all students. Special Education Teachers will accurately track instructional minutes, ensure timely follow up with all requests, and follow up on progress with parents. Option to work one day per week remotely. Administrative Responsibilities - Help coordinate Special Education programs within the school - Interpret and implement all state and federal special education requirements and mandates to ensure compliance - In collaboration with school leadership and appropriate personnel, plan and implement professional development programs for regular education personnel and parents - Be accountable for system-wide student records including compliance with appropriate laws and regulations - Serve as a member or case manager of the IEP team, the Student Study Team and other appropriate school committees - Ensure delivery of all of the services prescribed in the Individual education plans of students - Plan and hold meetings with SPED parents to get feedback for the LCAP Teaching Support - Support teachers in identifying effective intervention strategies, modifications, and accommodations for students who are making limited academic progress or behavioral improvements - Provide direct and indirect instruction for students whose needs were identified in an IEP (push-in and pull-out)
