La Cañada Unified School District is seeking a part-time (0.4 FTE or 40%) French teacher for La Cañada High School for the 2024-25 school year. The course load is expected to contain two sections of French, at either Level 2, Level 3 or both. A probationary contract will be offered, leading to tenure.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications: 1. Credential: Valid California Single Subject Credential in French, with authorization to teach English Language Learner students. 2. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Master’s degree or higher degree is desirable. Work Year: This is a part-time position (0.4 FTE or 40%), mid-August through early June (10 months) with 188 contracted workdays. A new teacher orientation day is scheduled for Wednesday, August 7, 2024. The first day of paid service is Monday, August 12, 2024. Students are on campus Wednesday, August 14, 2024 through Thursday, June 5, 2025. School is in session 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. with a block schedule on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The last day of the teacher work year is Friday, June 6, 2025. Salary: Placement on the certificated salary schedule is dependent on education and years of employment in a public school district. No cap on years for public school experience. The starting annual salary range for a fully credentialed teacher at 40% is $26,192 to $50,207, which corresponds to $2,375.37 to $4,564.29 per month. Teachers are paid once a month over 11 months, August through June. Benefits: This position does not meet the eligibility requirements to participate in the District’s medical benefit plans.
