Job Summary

The job of the Human Resources Clerk is done for the purpose of providing a variety of responsible technical human resources duties including screening and processing substitute applicants; dispatching substitutes and filling emergency requests for substitutes; maintaining substitute records; providing training and orientation; recruitment, selection, and records management and maintenance. This job reports to the assigned District Administrator or designee.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test or performance test and a structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each section of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future permanent and substitute vacancies. Applicants who may need reasonable accommodation for interviewing or testing must notify the Personnel Department at (562) 690-2321, three business days prior to the testing date.
