Job Summary

Job Summary

The Assistant Principal, Elementary, works under the direction of the Principal and is responsible for assisting with the overall site instructional program; in the planning, coordination and direction of school-site activities including extra-curricular areas; and in working with staff, parents and the community. The Assistant Principal, Elementary also assists with other management leadership duties as assigned by the Principal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Credential(s): 1. Valid Appropriate California Administrative Services Credential (or eligible for credential with a Certificate of Eligibility from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing or enrollment in an Administrative Services Intern Credential Program) 2. Valid California Teaching Credential Education: 1. Master’s Degree (or in process) Experience: 1. Minimum five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience 2. Previous administrative experience preferred, but not required Documents Required: 1. Letter of Intent giving reasons for being interested in the Assistant Principal position, outlining specifically your qualifications. 2. Resume including background information; educational experience and achievements; community and professional involvement 3. Three (3) Current Professional Letters of Recommendation, one (1) of which must be from a current supervisor. All letters must be signed and dated within one (1) year Required Upon Hire: 1. Certificate stating freedom from tuberculosis 2. A valid CA Drivers License 3. Candidates selected for appointment are required to be fingerprinted in our office at the employee's expense and must receive DOJ and FBI clearance before beginning work. Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of the position without hazard to themselves or others.
