Job Summary

Visions is seeking an Instructional Assistant who will work to support the Student Services Department. Instructional Assistants perform tasks related to the instruction and supervision of students in a virtual and/or in-person setting and/or other programs as assigned. The tasks are specific to directed learning activities, academic and social-emotional learning support, tutoring, synchronous instruction, and implementing student learning and engagement opportunities for all TK-12th grade student groups in all Vision In Education academies, including but not limited to multilingual learners and at-promise youth. Tasks to include performing routine clerical and supportive tasks and relative duties as assigned by supervisor, as well as providing interpretation and translation assistance for school personnel, students, and families. A desire and ability to work with students, families, and school personnel is essential in this position. Specific assignments consist of a combination of several duties. Assignment can change from school year to school year. In general, this position will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in person at our office in Carmichael, CA or other locations supporting students and families, and 2 days remotely. However, depending upon the needs of the department this schedule is subject to change. Visions offers a very generous, competitive benefits package that includes options for 100% employer-paid Medical/Dental/Vision (single), retirement (CalPERS), sick time (9 days) and holiday (20 which includes 2 weeks of paid time off over the holiday season). Classified employees are eligible for educational reimbursement up to $15,000. Given this is a new position for the 2024-25 school year, all successful candidates will be starting on July 29, 2024 (3 weeks before the start of the work year calendar) to get additional training and support. The compensation for the training will be at an hourly rate and not a part of the work year calendar.
