Job Summary

Job Summary

Provide a California State standards-aligned visual and performing arts (Music, Performing/Theatre Arts, and Media/Visual Arts) program for students in the elementary grades TK-6. The VAPA teacher will provide a VAPA program for students and support for teachers in the implementation of standards-based lessons and activities in music, visual, and performing arts. Activities are to be designed to promote student VAPA skill development, enjoyment of “the Arts,” self-confidence, self-discipline, and good work habits. Note: Since this assignment includes instructional skills in all “Arts,” it is recognized that the teacher may excel in one or two areas and seek colleague partnerships to provide service in the other areas.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid California Teaching Credential with EL authorization Supplemental (or CLAD), Background and experience in the Arts (Music, Visual, Performing, etc.) • Additional California teaching authorization in Arts, Music, Theater, Performing, or Entertainment • Possession of a valid California driver’s license
