Job Summary
Under the direction of the School Site Administrator, the high school English teacher is responsible for instructing others about the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. They assign books and essays for students to read and teaches them how to identify themes, points of view, and other characteristics.
Requirements / Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required; • Degree in the subject they willteach or direct subject-area teaching experience; • Film or Media Background preferred. Helpful if you have taught these courses. • Possess a valid California Teaching Credential; Teaching experience in a public or private school, preferably in an urban setting.
