B. Essential Job Duties: 1. Ride a school bus or District transportation vehicle to provide safe and secure transportation for students with physical, educational and emotional needs. 2. Sanitize and clean; STAR seats, car seat, vehicle seat, for bodily fluids and or bloodborne pathogens. 3. Maintain order and discipline on bus as required; monitor student activities and assure compliance with bus safety procedures; notify bus driver of potential problems. 4. Assists school bus driver in identifying the needs of students. 5. Installs or removes STAR seats in the bus and district vehicles. 6. Assist in the loading, unloading and securing of all students; assist in ensuring seat belts, harnesses and wheelchair clamps are secured as required. 7. Assist driver with equipment, including wheelchair lifts, tie downs, seat belts, harnesses and other adaptive equipment as necessary. 8. Communicate with students, staff and community regarding the needs of all students, bus schedules and other related concerns or questions. 9. Prepares and reviews required paperwork (i.e., incident reports, care plans, behavior plan, routes, and emergency cards). 10. Assist drivers with routing directions. 11. Assist with child check protocols. 12. Provides medical care and first aid to students according to established District procedures and policies, call 911 if required. 13. Attends training, workshops, meetings, etc... for the purpose of maintaining skills and ensuring compliance with district, local, state and federal requirements. 14. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience: Work experience in an educational setting, preferred. Education: High School graduation or the equivalent Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing: - Valid CA Driver's License - Bilingual - English/Spanish - Current CPR and First Aid Certificate acceptable to CA Highway Patrol - Successfully Pass District Test
