Job Summary

Harbor Day School is seeking a full-time Associate Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic school year in the Lower School. The primary responsibilities of an Associate Teacher involve carrying out specific and delegated tasks assigned by the lead teacher. The Associate Teacher should also be able to take initiative in assessing classroom needs for academic progress and social development. The Associate Teacher will, at times, teach large or small groups of students. At other times, the Associate Teacher will work one-on-one with students. Experience with Reading and Writing Workshop, the Orton-Gillingham approach, and Singapore Math is beneficial. Proficiency in using technology to enhance the learning experience is also required. The Associate Teacher also assists with clerical tasks and recess and lunch duties. Associates take part in school-sponsored professional development days. A four-year degree is required, and a teaching credential is preferred. Prior experience in an elementary classroom setting is highly recommended. Employment as an Associate Teacher does not guarantee a future lead teacher position. Comprehensive benefits are provided. Lower School Associate Teacher

Primary responsibilities of the Associate Teacher involve carrying out specific and delegated tasks assigned by the lead teacher. The Associate Teacher should also be able to take initiative in assessing classroom needs for academic progress and social development. The Associate Teacher will, at times, teach large or small groups of students. At other times, the Associate Teacher will work one-on-one with students. Salary range:  Full-time Associate Teacher position ranges from $50,000 to $57,000

depending on educational background and teaching experience. Comprehensive benefits are provided.
