Job Summary
The Arcadia Unified School District is seeking a responsible, motivated, collaborative individual who will perform professional public relations functions in support of the District’s strategic communications activities. The Public Information Officer will work under the direction of the Chief Communications Officer and will assist in the planning and coordination of public information programs, projects and special events.
Requirements / Qualifications
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in public relations, public administration, education, journalism, marketing or a closely related field. Masters degree is desirable - Minimum of two years of experience in coordinating, developing and implementing communications, media and public relations activities - Experience working in the public sector is preferred IMPORTANT NOTE: Applicantion must be completed in its entirety (please do not 'refer to resume') Application must also include the following materials: - Letter of Introduction - The letter may be addressed to Dr. Kevin Hryciw, Assistant Superintendent, Human Resource Services - Resume - Three current letters of recommendation, dated within six months of application date - Transcripts (unofficial are acceptable, official transcripts will be required upon hire)
Applicants will be selected for further screening and/or oral interview based on the following qualifying criteria: - Record of applicable experience - Education, training and preparation - References - Completeness and quality of application materials
