We are seeking an experienced and caring teacher for a small 1st grade class, who possesses a LOVE for the early grades and an enthusiasm for the Waldorf curriculum. Our 1st-grade teacher carries the primary responsibility for teaching all subjects of the 1st-grade curriculum and is required to have a strong ability to work well with parents and colleagues. Our teachers need to deliver developmentally appropriate instruction rich with music, movement, and art as well as skill development in academic areas. We look to our 1st-grade teacher to bring warmth, imagination, and nurturing qualities to the classroom while holding the class with loving guidance and classroom management. Our goal is to help develop a strong community that is supportive of a developmentally appropriate method of education. This position requires the teacher to loop with the students for 1st - 3rd grade. As an enrichment program, we work with families who are homeschooling and are either enrolled with an independent study charter or have filed their own Private School Affidavit (PSA).
