ABOUT iQ ACADEMY, LOS ANGELES AND THE STUDENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST POSITION: iQ Academy, Los Angeles delivers online/virtual home based instruction to K-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. K12, inc. is our curriculum provider. Virtual schools are new models in public education. They look both backward to what we know works well in educating children, and forward to see how technology can help us implement these strategies with children. Virtual school teachers are part of a pioneering effort. Our teachers and staff, therefore, need to share the school’s pioneering mission and approach. The Student Support Specialists offer personalized assistance to students identified for additional support. This assistance includes individual guidance in navigating the curriculum, executing Back on Track Plans, finishing assignments, advocating for extra support, and offering any other academic assistance required, along with fulfilling other responsibilities as required within their contracted hours.

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE: • Reside in the state of California • Strong Organizational Skills • Detail Oriented • Able to balance and complete multiple projects • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills • Self-directed but comfortable working as part of a team • Strong leadership skills • Ability to travel to events, as needed CERTIFICATES/EDUCATION: Associates Degree Bachelor's degree (desired) ELIGIBILITY POOL: Our postings are eligibility pools for positions that may arise during the 2024-2025 school year, ONLY.
