Assistant Principal - K-6
Description of Position
Assists the principal in the overall organization, administration, and supervision of the school.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the principal, assumes responsibility for the administration and supervision of various programs at the school site, including but not limited to: testing, some aspects of special education services, Student Study Team, and Section 504 requests. Evaluates and supervises certificated and classified employees. Monitors and assumes responsibility for the day to day implementation of special programs, including Title I, Title II, Title IV, TUPE, EIA, and SIP and other categorically funded programs that may later be adopted by the District. Assumes primary responsibility for most student discipline referrals. Assumes overall responsibility for the administration of the school in the absence of the principal.
Qualifications
• Credential: Administrative Services Credential
• Experience: Successful teaching and/or pupil services experience.
• Personal Qualities: Provide decisive leadership to pupil program.
