- To follow the Mission and Philosophy of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic School and be a Christian witness to all - Treat all students with dignity and respect - To be acquainted with and supportive of the educational philosophy of the Diocese of San Diego and St. Mary’s School and follow all regulations, policies and standards set forth by the Diocese and the School - Provide appropriate P.E. activities for grades kindergarten through eighth grade - Foster a spirit of collaboration and be a team player. Make an effort to help resolve conflicts, by offering solutions and being receptive to constructive criticism - Collaborate with the homeroom teachers to ensure all students participating in after school sports qualify academically and behaviorally - Prepare individual student report card grades according to schedule - Report any problems/concern to the principal - Maintain all sports equipment for student recess/play time/P.E. classes - Respect the confidentiality of information provided to faculty and staff - Assist with recess/lunch/dismissal supervision as assigned - Inventory sports equipment for all sports - Attend North County cluster AD meetings - Plan the Sports Award Assembly - Coordinate St. Mary’s School participation in extracurricular NCPL sport events and other local tournaments - Be willing to complete any assignment/duty requested by the principal in an effort to support the school

          Physical Qualifications: - Models a healthy lifestyle and personal physical fitness - Position requires a high level of energy and ability to move from a sitting to standing position frequently - Must be able to explain and demonstrate fundamental motor skills and patterns for movement skills such as running, hopping, jumping, galloping, twisting, turning, or bending - Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach and must have mobility of arms and dexterity of hands - Must be able to stand for long periods of time - Must be able to walk and jog long distances as needed - Be able to move quickly from one place to another to ensure safety - Can lift 30 pounds and is able to work indoors and outdoors - Must be able to supervise students by sight and sound - Must have the physical ability to lead sports and games - Possess the physical stamina and skills in specific coaching areas The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
