ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES AND THE COMPASS ENGAGEMENT COACH POSITION: The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to TK-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. K12, inc. is our curriculum provider. The Compass Engagement Coach provides information, resources, and support to students and families who are new to our schools and those who are struggling to meet enrollment requirements due to a lack of engagement. Job duties include, but are not limited to: • Host welcome sessions and orientations as assigned to support and engage new families • Provide weekly email and attendance outreach to assigned students • Complete and log support calls with assigned families • Guide students and families in the navigation of the online school platform and assist with troubleshooting as needed • Provide 1-1 and group support to students as assigned • Create and implement weekly Support Plans that will guide assigned students back to compliance and re-engagement • Provide proactive outreach to students and learning coaches as needed • Connect students and families to school-based and/or community resources as needed

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Full time Compass Engagement Coaches: $21.25 per hour - Class3 Salary Scale: tinyurl.com/ClassifiedHourlySalarySchedule We do participate in CalPERS. Please contact your CalPERS counselor about how employment with any of the California Virtual Academies may affect your personal PERS account. Only full time employees are offered health, dental, and vision benefits. Benefits information is only given out upon offer. We do provide training for all programs and we have a great staff to serve as your support system. REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE: • Must reside in the state of California. • Prior experience working with at-risk youth. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Detail oriented. • Able to balance and complete multiple projects accurately and on time. • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Google Suite. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both students and adults. • Self-directed but comfortable working as part of a team. • Ability to travel to events, as assigned. Certificates and Licenses: Bachelor’s degree desired or relevant work experience. Please Note: Applications and interviews are only valid for one school year.
