Job Summary

The McKinleyville Union School District is seeking a dynamic leader for McKinleyville Middle School to join a progressive school team dedicated to providing an excellent academic program and positive learning environment to students in grades 6-8. The Principal will serve as the school's educational leader, creating and maintaining an inclusive, safe, responsible, respectful, and equitable learning environment. The Principal is responsible for performing all duties related to the direction and effectiveness of the overall school program, including oversight of the school's instructional programs, supervision of staff, managing resources, ensuring student safety, and advancing the district's Vision and Priorities. The Principal understands their school's importance as an integral part of the community.

Requirements / Qualifications

Teaching or other relevant educational experience, K-8 preferred. Appropriate California Administrative Credential (including a Teaching or Pupil Personnel Services Credential). Leadership experience demonstrating readiness to serve the school and district. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to build and maintain a positive school culture. Ability to understand and utilize data to assist with decision-making. Master’s Degree preferred. Spanish fluency is desirable. Department of Justice fingerprint clearance must be completed prior to the first day of employment at a cost of $62 to the employee.
