We have an exciting opportunity for a Tutorial Services Specialist position located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Under the direction of the Dean of Instruction or designated administrator and the general leadership of the Learning Resource Center Coordinators, the Tutorial Services Specialist (TSS) coordinates services for a campus wide online and face to face peer tutor program by screening, recommending, hiring, and training tutors. The TSS will also provide oversight, schedule tutor coverage in learning centers, and participate in the day to day operations of the Learning Resource Centers, as it pertains to tutoring and academic support services. The incumbent provides administrative support services to the center that include, but are not limited to, scheduling of tutors/student workers, timesheet processing and approval, records, reports, and works with administrative assistants and coordinators to ensure appropriate budgets are utilized.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1) An Associate's degree (attach transcripts) in social science, education (or a related field English, Math, Science); AND 2) Two (2) years of professional experience relating to students in an educational environment; AND 3) Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, and photograph*** SUBSTITUTIONS Substitutions for meeting the minimum qualifications of this position are allowed. Substitutions for the professional experience requirement are allowed, as follows: College level coursework in a non-job related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of experience on the basis of one (1) year of college education for six (6) months of experience. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1) Evidence of work experience in a community college setting, especially in blended learning spaces such as academic learning support centers and libraries 2) Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing and implementing programs and services that serve diverse student populations 3) Evidence and experience leading and collaborating with faculty, staff and students to provide academic support services 4) Demonstrated knowledge and experience with tutoring methodologies and learning support strategies such as supplemental instruction, embedded tutoring, and peer led tutoring. 5) Experience with data collection, including developing and analyzing assessment tools for reporting purposes.
