Job Summary
The job of Behavioral Intervention Support Specialist is done for the purpose of leading and supporting the members of the school staff in various aspects of assuring that effective and efficient behavioral intervention and support systems are in place to support the continuous academic progress of students. This individual will serve as a liaison for various members of the learning community in various aspects of the instructional program including but not limited to the following: providing support to teachers for identification of students/classes with behavioral concerns; instruction and support to staff on behavioral analysis, positive behavioral support and reinforcement systems, social skills training, etc; determine the function of behavior and monitoring student progress; differentiating instruction or interventions to meet student needs; creating and/or designing data collection procedures; professional development; positive replacement behavior and classroom strategies for behavioral program management; parent involvement and communication; and promoting safe schools.

Certificate of Applied Behavioral Analysis or documented advanced level experience/training in this field Education: Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree desirable. Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation may be required for some positions in this job class (mileage expense allowance provided). Two letters of reference from supervisors and/or peers.
