THE JOB IvyTech is looking for an individual who has earned a Preliminary or Clear Teaching Credential in any subject area to oversee independent study students during the 2024 Summer Session. This session lasts for 5 weeks and includes two days of paid training prior to the start of the session on July 1st. Students complete their work asynchronously through online platforms which allows for this position to also have a flexible schedule. Those individuals working in the role of Educational Facilitator 1 ($198.85/day) maintain regular weekly communication between the learner/parent and the school. The person in this position is NOT responsible for teaching, tutoring, classroom management, grading, or assigning attendance. The focus, instead, is on monitoring student progress, mentoring, and directing them toward established interventions. This position involves communicating with parent(s)/guardian(s) and their learner to help them navigate our education program, providing guidance and support, discussing weekly progress, and assisting with scheduling additional communication or meetings, as needed, with subject-specific teachers. Most importantly, individuals in this position will interface with the school's various learning management systems to develop weekly assignment sheets that are individualized for the EF's cohort of students. Those individuals working in the role of Educational Facilitator 2 ($290.23/day) will also be responsible for monitoring and servicing a cohort of students. This position also involves one or more of the following additional assignments, assisting with tutoring in high-need subject areas (e.g. Spanish), assisting with grading assignments in impacted subject areas (e.g. History), or overseeing auto-grade elective courses (e.g. Art). EF2 positions will require appropriate subject-specific credentials.

QUALIFICATIONS *Ability to make generalizations, evaluations, or decisions without immediate supervision. * Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). * Must be computer literate (Google Suite, and other web 2.0 skills a plus). * Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others. * Highly organized and skilled at record-keeping techniques. * Maintains updated participant lists with recorded drops, transfers, and absences. * Meet schedules and timelines. * Bilingual in Spanish is a plus EDUCATION * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university * Must possess a current California teaching credential * Master’s degree in a subject matter field or Education is strongly preferred, but not required
