Job Summary
Excel Academy Charter School is proudly a 2023 CA Distinguished School. The Teacher of Record will assume the responsibility of developing and supervising an individualized learning plan for their class roster of 7- 12 students. To ensure students are progressing according to grade level content standards, ToRs will collaborate with parents of independent study students to monitor and evaluate their performance. Additionally, ToRs will be assigned various school programs and are expected to actively contribute to fostering a positive school culture and promoting growth within the school community. This role necessitates a proactive approach, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work autonomously to meet all established deadlines. Must reside in the Southern California area. Requirements / Qualifications
An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants must have a valid, current, and appropriate California state teaching credential for teaching staff. Single Subject Science and/or Math. A copy of the Teaching Credential is to be provided and kept current. Authorization to teach English Learners. Two (2) years of education experience. Classroom experience is welcome. Charter School experience preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus. Hold and maintain a valid California Driver’s License; proof of automobile insurance; and fulltime use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations. State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance. Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years.
