Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Executive Director of Student Services and Engagement or designee, the District Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for implementing a comprehensive health service program across all schools in the district. This includes evaluating, improving, and safeguarding the health of pupils and school personnel in compliance with state laws and district policies. The role involves administering first aid, providing health services to students, conducting routine and emergency health assessments, treatment and referral services, and actively participating in the prevention, detection, and correction of health-related issues. Additionally, the District Nurse acts as a liaison to facilitate communication between students, parents, staff, and various resources within the school district and the community. Supervision is received from the Executive Director of Student Services and Engagement or designee, and the District Nurse also oversees health services staff, including Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and District Health Technicians.
