About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. Antioch is known as the “Gateway to the Delta” and is one of California’s oldest cities, with a diverse community of approximately 100,000. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned administrator, provide instructional support and assistance to certificated teachers and students assigned to a designated special education instructional program; perform a variety of support activities related to behavior management and classroom instruction of special education students; perform a variety of clerical support duties related to classroom and program activities. Generally, provides service for students enrolled in Resources Specialist Programs, or to students with Mild/Moderate areas of need.

Unit: CSEA Current Vacancies: 20 Classification Hours/Months: 3 to 6 hours day / 10 Mos. (180 Days) CSEA Salary Range 126: Step A $25.74; Step B $27.04; Step C $28.41, Step D $29.85; Step E $31.36; Step F $32.95 Promotional/Open * The promotional group as well as the public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligibles. APPLICATION DEADLINE – WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13, 2024 by 4:30 PM Application and answers to supplemental questions are required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school or equivalent; experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Licenses and other requirements: Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire. EVERY STUDENT SUCCEEDS ACT (ESSA) FEDERAL REQUIREMENT: Degree or completion of 48 semester units from an accredited college or university or district assessment/county certificate showing compliance with ESSA are required.
SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. Application evaluation (weighted 10%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 90%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion to be placed on the eligibility list. Final interviews for specific vacancies will be scheduled from the approved eligibility list.
